Genetic Risk Assessment with SNP Testing
Evaluate Your Disease Susceptibility at the Genetic Level
Our SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) testing analyzes your genetic predisposition to major diseases such as cancer, dementia, and atherosclerosis, using only a saliva or blood sample. By comprehensively understanding your genetic traits through this test, you can proactively utilize the results to support preventive and personalized (tailor-made) medicine in the future.

Because SNP testing examines fixed genetic information inherited from your parents, it is generally considered sufficient to undergo the test once in a lifetime. However, as testing technologies continue to evolve and new genes become analyzable, the scope and precision of SNP testing are constantly expanding.
At Kita-Aoyama D.CLINIC, we are committed to providing cutting-edge, high-quality medical care. Therefore, we continuously update our testing methods to reflect the latest medical advancements. Even if you have undergone SNP testing in the past, we highly recommend taking the most up-to-date version of the test based on the latest medical knowledge.
An SNP (pronounced "snip") refers to a variation in a single nucleotide—the basic building blocks of DNA—at a specific position in the genome. Human traits are largely determined by the unique combination of SNPs inherited from one's parents. Common examples of traits influenced by SNPs include predispositions such as "tendency to gain weight" or "alcohol tolerance."

Types of Genetic Testing
Comprehensive SNP Testing for Genetic Traits
This test analyzes 350 specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)—inherent variations in your DNA obtained from a saliva sample—to assess your genetic predisposition to 114 conditions and traits, including major diseases such as cancer, atherosclerosis, and dementia, as well as drug response profiles. (As of June 2024, the number of analyzed traits has been expanded.)
- • Evaluates whether you have a genetic tendency to develop major diseases such as cancer, dementia, and atherosclerosis.
- • Provides a comprehensive assessment of multiple conditions—not limited to cancer—in a single test.
- • Specifically developed and optimized for individuals of Japanese ancestry.
Esophageal and Head & Neck Cancer Risk SNP Testing
This test assesses your genetic risk for esophageal and head & neck cancers based on variations in alcohol-metabolizing enzyme genes, combined with a lifestyle questionnaire. Using real-time PCR to analyze DNA from a blood sample, we evaluate specific SNPs associated with alcohol-related cancer susceptibility.
